Key Responsibilities:

  1. Administer programs related to scientific fields
  2. Advise senior executives on environmental issues related to the company’s activities
  3. Analyze samples of gases and vapors
  4. Conduct research
  5. Document investigations and conclusions/recommendations
  6. Monitor budgets allocated to environmental programs
  7. Monitor environmental non-compliance and required corrective actions
  8. Report information to supervisor
  9. Provide consulting services to government and other organizations
  10. Client communication
  11. Prepare work plans and cost estimates
  12. Manage environmental field work programs
  13. Mentor and train staff; ensure work is done safely and correctly
  14. Manage, review and sign-off on technical reports
  15. Liaise with regulators, contractors and other third parties
  16. Prepare and issue invoices to clients
  17. Maintain billable targets as set by CEO / COO
  18. Undertake occasional travel to Calgary, Fort St. John or other destinations as needed
  19. Provide excellent levels of service to our internal and external clients
  20. Perform additional tasks as needed

Job Requirements

  1. 10+ years of relevant contaminated sites/reclamation/natural sciences experience in environmental consulting in BC, with 5+ years of project management experience
  2. Technical diploma or degree in a related discipline
  3. Possesses a recognized accredited professional designation (e.g., P.Eng, P.Geo, P.Chem, P.Ag. etc.) recognized in BC, or the ability to acquire one
  4. Experience in contaminated sites on urban sites, with extensive knowledge of the various provincial and federal environmental regulations and guidelines
  5. Experience in managing technically complex projects, working with a dynamic team, and overseeing cost controls
  6. Energy, intelligence, and integrity; relentless drive for exceptional client experience
  7. Experience managing and working with a multi-disciplinary team
  8. Reliable attention to details that matter most, accuracy-driven, and professional organizational skills
  9. Excellent communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills
  10. Commitment to safety
  11. Criminal record check
  12. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  13. Internet access
