Role Description:

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join our Resilience Team in Calgary, Alberta. More specifically, the potential Project Manager will join our Evaluation and Restoration (ER) Division. As a Project Manager within our ER division, individuals with direct experience dealing with Contaminated Sites, Site Remediation, and Monitoring will be required, as well as direct experience with the coordination and management of environmental site assessment projects including:

1. Phase I ESAs
2. Phase II ESAs
3. Risk assessments
4. Remediation projects

Using both provincial and federal regulatory frameworks, diligent interpretation of environmental data, the comparison of sample results to applicable standards/guidelines and data QA/QC, along with industry best practices is expected. The successful candidate will join a growing team to provide project management, technical support, and leadership. The Project Manager will support and mentor intermediate and junior staff with a focus on health and safety, team collaboration, high quality work, innovation, efficiency, and focused client relationships. The successful candidate will also work with other like-minded individuals to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations.

The Project Manager is a hybrid role with the option to work remote or at one of our Arcadis offices. Role Accountabilities:

As a Project Manager, you'll be expected to provide project management on small, large, and complex environmental projects, including:

1. Development and management of scope, schedule, budget, technical resources, project risks evaluation and mitigation, and procurement.
2. Technical advice, and report preparation and review.
3. Adhere to and support corporate policy and procedures.
4. Maintain and support quality, health and safety, and performance management systems.
5. Manage and mentor staff.

As part of the ER team, you'll manage and direct technical tasks and field programs for:

1. Contaminated site investigations
2. Feasibility studies
3. Remediation design and implementation
4. Hydrogeological studies
5. Monitoring programs

As an experienced manager, you'll be expected to provide technical expertise in support of ongoing business pursuits and environmental projects in various sectors including:

1. Oil and Gas
2. Mining
3. Power
4. Infrastructure
5. Brownfields and industrial redevelopment
6. Government

Be responsible for ensuring that site/client project management (non-technical) objectives are defined and met (i.e., scope, schedule, cost). Prepare and review reports, work plans, specifications, and proposals; manage technical budgets and provide oversight of intermediate and junior staff work for regulatory compliance and technical accuracy, QA/QC. Contribute to ongoing technical knowledge and innovation initiatives within Arcadis.

1. Working knowledge and experience in environmental compliance and associated guidelines/legislation for provincial and federal requirements including CCME.
2. Direct experience working at contaminated sites such as:
   1. Industrial facilities
   2. Refineries, bulk plants, gas stations
   3. Military properties
   4. Commercial processing plants
   5. Federal government properties
   6. Airports
   7. Mines
   8. Power plants
   9. Wind farms and solar facilities
3. Experience working for clients in industrial, development, and federal and provincial government sectors.
4. Proven ability to design and implement field programs; analyze data, write reports, provide quality control and assurance, and present results to clients.
5. This includes experience with responding to Requests for Proposals, Expressions of Interest, and Statements of Qualifications.
6. Excellence in communication and collaboration skills that facilitate detailed planning, timely decision-making, and efficient implementation is a must.
7. Valid driver's license required.
8. Willingness to travel to project sites and meetings as required.
9. Individuals with Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) and/or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) designation in Alberta are preferred.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Engineering or related field. 5+ years of direct experience with respect to Contaminated Sites and Site Remediation. Direct experience within the fields of Engineering, Geoscience, and Technology with a focus on Site Investigations, Remediation, Risk Management and Environmental Monitoring. Professional must be able to sign off reports and be in good standing in accordance with Alberta regulations.
