Schedule: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist to join our team. If you are passionate about fostering a culture of safety and have experience in developing and implementing safety processes, this role is for you!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist you will:

1. Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs.
2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
3. Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
4. Lead and participate in safety improvement initiatives and projects.
5. Analyze safety performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
6. Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels.
7. Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations.
8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices.
9. Prepare and submit required safety reports and documentation.
10. Liaise with regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting and resolution of any compliance issues.
11. Promote a culture of safety through effective communication and engagement with employees.
12. Serve as a safety champion and role model within the organization.
13. Collaborate with other departments to integrate safety into all aspects of operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

As the Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist you will bring:

1. A degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
2. 5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
3. Experience and knowledge of ISO . ISO , , and would be considered an asset.
4. Strong computer skills.
5. Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
6. Knowledge of safety systems (OH&C Level 1 & 2) is an asset.
7. Experience in Risk Management and project management is an asset.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Ability to lead and influence others in a positive manner.
11. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships and function as a team member.
