ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYST

Dryden Fibre Canada is currently seeking an individual to join the Dryden Team.

The City of Dryden is located on the North shoreline of the Wabigoon Chain of Lakes along the Trans-Canada Highway. It is located midway between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is surrounded by wilderness, lakes, and landscapes.

Your Role:

Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, your role will be to assist with the monitoring, control, analysis, planning, and communication related to environmental standards for air emissions, wastewater and effluent, non-hazardous and hazardous waste management.

More specifically, you will:

1. Develop and monitor procedures to confirm that operations are in compliance with environmental regulations.
2. Ensure government reporting requirements are met.
3. Provide guidance and support to operations and contractors for routine and emergency environmental issues.
4. Conduct compliance sampling and monitoring and analyze data to support regulatory reporting and continuous improvement of the mill’s environmental management system.
5. Conduct field inspections and surveys.
6. Work with internal and external laboratories to effectively manage sampling and regulatory reporting.
7. Participate in Environmental on-call rotation coverage.

Your Profile:

You hold a degree/diploma in an environmental or related discipline or have 1-3 years demonstrated experience working in a pulp mill.

1. Good understanding of applicable environmental regulations.
2. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
3. Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
4. The ability to co-ordinate environmental regulation activities.
5. A safety-oriented mindset with the desire to enforce and follow mill safety and environmental policies and procedures.
6. Strong oral and written communication abilities, including technical writing, budget preparation and presentations.
