As a Field and Lab Technician for GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and Cellular Testing, you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and analyzing the performance of GNSS and cellular networks in both lab and field environments. You will work closely with other engineers and technicians to ensure the accuracy and reliability of testing results.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Verify stability and portability of networks and software
Perform ongoing hardware and software maintenance operations, including installing or upgrading hardware or software
Support field testing campaigns, including in-lab preparation, system integration, and functional validation stages before large-scale field activity
Experienced in execution of field data gathering in vehicle-based test campaigns either in the role of vehicle driver or in the role of equipment operator
Experienced in execution of field data gathering in pedestrian-based test campaigns which may involve wearing a ground-truth system in a backpack configuration and/or propelling a repurposed “stroller” that hosts the GNSS receivers under test
Experienced in the archiving of field data to support automated quality assurance and initial data analytics
Generate test and performance reports, and present findings to customers and BTI personnel
Contribute to competitive analysis testing and assessment exercises
Work with position ground truth systems needed for BTI and competitive evaluation
Provide technical guidance/support for the development and troubleshooting of systems
Work on field testing on 3GPP standards based on cellular systems such as GSM, EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA, LTE and 5G or any related network service. The testing conducts various types of mobility and stationary RF or Software test cases in the field or lab

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred in Electronics, Software Engineering Communication, Computer Network Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications
Must Have the Following Competencies / Skills:

Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential for creating the test reports
Experience with test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Willingness to travel to field sites for testing and data collection
Work Environment:
The position will work indoors the majority of the time and will be exposed to typical temperature and noise levels maintained in an office environment. Ride along with a driver or drive a vehicle to perform testing and analytics. You will need to be able to work in a small enclosed space with or without peers as well as work in an open office space alongside your peers.
