The Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia (WCB) is the province’s provider of workplace injury insurance. About The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Architecture and Cybersecurity, the EI Security Officer helps monitor and maintain information security policies and standards as they relate to the goals of the overall business. The EI Security Officer will support the development of new security management standards as required to support WCB initiatives and respond to changes in technology. They work closely with vendors and internal users to ensure that the security framework adheres to privacy legislation as well as established standards, policies and guidelines.
The EI Security Officer will support the development and design of the IT Risk Assessment Protocol to ensure risks are identified and responded to in a manner and timeframe that limits risk to WCB. The EI Security Officer also performs information security risk assessments, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing at various levels and researches and mitigates against known vulnerabilities and handles security incidents including the coordination of threat and vulnerability activities with operational teams. They will interface regularly with business and IT clients to provide direction, advice and support to business areas on the use and safeguarding of corporate data and applications.
