The Engineering Services department of the Infrastructure Services division has an opportunity for qualified individuals to apply for the position of Engineering Technologist. Reporting to the Manager of Engineering Services, this position offers 72 hours bi-weekly starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan checking.
2. Conveying procedures and specifications to contractors and development applicants.
3. Supervising the installation of public works.
4. Reviewing legal documents.

Qualifications:

1. Completed a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma.
2. Eligible to be certified as an Applied Science Technician or Technologist with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia.
3. 1-3 years of experience in a similar role including inspecting and/or supervising the installation and/or rehabilitation of buried municipal utilities.
4. Good working knowledge of construction maintenance and repair of municipal water, sewer, drainage works and road networks.
5. Proficient with Microsoft software applications, AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS.
6. Ability to read, interpret and create technical plans.

Additional Information:
Our wage range for the Engineering Technologist, based on education and experience is $44.24 to $48.26 as a starting wage.

Requirements:
The successful applicant must hold a valid BC class 5 driver’s license and must provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract prior to beginning employment.
