SUMMARY

This position requires you to provide a “POSITIVE” and memorable experience for our guests. You will do this by responding to any maintenance repair requests from our cloud-based hotel property management software and radio dispatch person. Safety is our #1 concern. You will assess the problem, and repair or refer the situation on to a supervisor for further action in a timely manner. You will keep all resort property and equipment in good repair so guest satisfaction is achieved. You will be responsible for maintaining a bacteria-free and chemically balanced water environment for our pool and spa guests. You will perform repair service and preventative maintenance inspections on all resort equipment including (HVACR) Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and related equipment. This position requires you to furnish your own hand tools and have your EPA refrigerant handling certification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position is a Leadership role where other technicians will go to you for training and advice.
  • Provide a “POSITIVE” and memorable experience for our internal and external guests.
  • Maintain open line of communication with supervisor.
  • Follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook.
  • Understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort.
  • Learn how to use our cloud-based hotel property management system and inventory system.
  • Assist as part of the First Response team during emergencies.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in guest rooms and meeting spaces.
  • Schedule appropriate downtime repairs around the use of our guests and use of the facility.
  • Wear and respond to mobile radio requests using professional radio etiquette.
  • Repair HVACR and related equipment and systems which includes: boilers, domestic hot water systems, kitchen equipment, rooftop equipment, and all related mechanicals.
  • Perform all Preventative Maintenance on above equipment which includes: cleaning, painting, filter changing, lubrication, sanitary systems, and snaking out drains.
  • Follow all OSHA guidelines.
  • Repairs to meet all state and local codes and be performed in a workmanship-like manner.
  • Be responsible for the condition of all facility assigned tools and equipment including vehicles.
  • Routinely run diagnostic tests on resort equipment.
  • Interpret test results and repair or recommend action to be taken.
  • Document and log all equipment operation and service records.
  • Any other maintenance duties deemed appropriate by direct supervisor.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Must be 18 years of age and have a High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a current valid Michigan driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s plan.
  • Must be EPA Refrigerant Handling certified.
  • Must train for and earn their CPO certification within the first year of employment. (Certified Pool Operator)
  • Must be able to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
  • Must have the ability to read and follow blueprint instructions.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience working in a hotel, condo, or institutional maintenance department.
  • Knowledge of energy management control systems is a plus.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The Engineering department is “Service Oriented” and requires a professional attitude when dealing with our guests, other engineering staff members, other resort team members, and departments. Communication and Teamwork are the KEY Ingredients in everything we do. Communication and Teamwork are essential skills required to address the specific needs of our internal and external guests.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Attention to detail is expected and required to maintain a Tech III classification.
  • Follow all OSHA guidelines without taking shortcuts.
  • Dealing with deadlines and tight schedules.
  • Must be able to work from a 12 ft ladder and/or from personnel lift up to 35 feet.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • This position will utilize power tools, hand tools, electrical tools, and wiring.
  • This list is not all inclusive due to the variety of jobs involved which may include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • You will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and possible risk of electrical shock.
  • Working on the roof of buildings, off extension ladders, personnel lift, and other high places.
  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

COMMENTS

Native American Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and a Drug Screen as a condition of employment. Must be able to work flexible hours and take on additional responsibilities when asked. Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality.
