YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the E&I Superintendent, you will be part of the E&I Engineering team and collaborate with other departments on site. You will act in a key departmental leadership role to provide direction and follow up on deliverables. Supporting both Surface and Underground operations, as well as a portfolio of Energy savings projects, you will ensure that the goals and objectives of the department are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
- Share technical knowledge, industry experience, and H&S Leadership;
- Provide guidance on soft skills and professional development;
- Mentor junior engineers to develop their technical and leadership skills;
- Act as the representative and leader of the engineering department;
- Advocate for the department's needs and interests within the organization;
- Provide oversight and advice on project planning and execution;
- Support project teams in coordinating tasks and resources;
- Lead and oversee design processes and technical solutions;
- Offer technical advice and support to ensure high-quality outcomes;
- Oversee cost tracking and budget management for projects;
- Provide advice and support to ensure financial efficiency and accountability;
- Lead quality assurance and control efforts;
- Ensure that projects meet established standards and specifications;
- Oversee risk management processes;
- Provide advice and support to mitigate project risks;
- Oversee documentation and reporting processes;
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project progress and outcomes;
- Lead and manage relationships with contractors and internal personnel;
- Provide oversight and support to ensure effective collaboration;
- Serve as the main point of contact for coordination between operations, development, and construction teams;
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across disciplines.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Technical Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or significant previous technical experience in Mining, Civil, Geotechnical, Geological, Surveying or another relevant field;
- Being a member of a Canadian engineering society and eligible for NAPEG membership;
- 8+ years of experience in an engineering role (underground mining an asset);
- Be safety-conscious and demonstrate safe work practices;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint and exposure to Deswik would be an asset;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.
Your Work Schedule:
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest.
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
