About Island Gold District

Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold District’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an underground operation would be highly regarded.
  • Underground Common Core modules would be seen as an asset.
  • Demonstrated a high level of energy, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Deswik, Autocad, and Promine is required.

The schedule for this position is based in a camp operation working on a 14-14 rotation schedule with flights provided from Toronto, Sudbury, and Rouyn-Noranda.
