About the team

The Data & Analytics team drives Kinaxis’ transformation into a data-driven organization. By designing and governing scalable, modern data ecosystems, we ensure reliable, high-quality, and accessible data that empowers decision-making across the company. Our expertise spans data integration, engineering, governance, business intelligence, and cloud cost optimization, enabling actionable insights, operational efficiency, and new business opportunities.

We are seeking an Engineer 2, Data & Analytics to help modernize and advance our data ecosystem, beginning with a dedicated focus on Sales Operations. This role involves ensuring that mission-critical reports and dashboards remain operational as backend changes in source systems are propagated. You will also collaborate with stakeholders and team members to transform legacy systems into a cloud-native, modern data stack while developing innovative data products that drive Kinaxis’ data-driven decision-making.

What you will do

  • Modernization & Development:
    • Participate in modernizing data systems with cloud-based tools
    • Develop scripts and queries for data integration and transformation tasks
    • Help build and maintain simple application to application data connectors
    • Help build, scale and automate robust, and efficient data pipelines
    • Implement data validation, cleansing, and error-handling mechanisms to maintain data quality and reliability
    • Stay up to date on the latest technology trends and best practices as they relate to your role
  • Collaboration & Solution Design:
    • Work with team members to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
    • Contribute to team planning and execution of data projects
    • Troubleshoot data engineering challenges with a focus on scalability and reliability
    • Work collaboratively to prioritize tasks and deliver solutions in an agile environment
  • Insights & Enablement:
    • Develop simple data models and dashboards to empower stakeholders with actionable insights
    • Develop and maintain BI models and visually appealing reports/dashboards
    • Support the implementation of data validation and error-handling mechanisms
  • Storytelling & Influence:
    • Deliver presentations and narratives to engage stakeholders and influence audiences
    • Advocate for innovative data strategies that align with Kinaxis’ growth and innovation objectives

Technologies we use

  • Experience working with PowerBI and Dataflows
  • Proficiency with tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica, dbt and BigQuery
  • Good understanding of software engineering principles, including CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), RESTful APIs and scripting languages (Python, SQL)
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and supportive Observability tooling (Logstash, Datadog, Grafana) is a plus
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and/or configuration-as-code (Ansible) is a plus

What we are looking for

  • 2-4 years in data engineering, analytics engineering, software engineering, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with either traditional or modern data systems
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a customer-centric and innovative mindset
  • Experience working for a SaaS company is a plus
