Employment Counsellor (Contract)

Youth Habilitation Quinte Inc.’s Employment Ontario Employment Services Program, known as Career Edge, requires an Employment Counsellor to provide services in its Napanee location. This is a full-time (35 hours/week) contract position commencing as soon as possible ending September 2025.

Who You Are
As an Employment Counsellor, you are a part of our Employment Services team and your passion for providing exceptional customer service contributes to guiding your clients to successful outcomes including employment, training, education and/or entrepreneurship. While assisting clients through the intake process and determining their needs, you will communicate in an open, helpful and engaging tone with a focus on empowering each client through the job search process.

You enjoy working with people, are organized, and can work effectively with a variety of software programs. This role will have you managing a caseload of clients, working collaboratively across all of our departments, completing data entry, following Ministry guidelines and referring clients to community support and services.

1. Strong case management skills including entering accurate case notes and maintaining organized files
2. Effective time management skills to meet timelines and targets by prioritizing tasks
3. Knowledge of the local labour market and labour legislation
4. Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, OPS/BPS, ESCases, Email, Databases)

Qualifications Required:

1. University Degree in a related field preferred
2. Minimum of two years of employment counselling experience is preferred
