We are excited to announce an educational opportunity for individuals interested in becoming remote certified to work in First Nations communities. This program includes paid training costs for the required courses and certification, ensuring you gain the qualifications needed for this rewarding career path. The training will run from January to June 2025 and will consist of four virtual courses over a six-month period. Upon successful completion of the courses and consolidation practicum, you will transition to the role of community health nurse. Please note that an 18-month return of service is required. Title: Employer paid education lineYou will be required to work 0.8 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) for the first 6 months while you complete your virtual training. Upon successful completion of your exam, you will then undertake a 6-week practicum in the community with a preceptor, which will be a full-time commitment. After successfully completing the practicum, you will transition to a 0.5 FTE and be eligible for recruitment and retention bonus up to $33,000. This gradual transition allows you to gain hands-on experience while ensuring you are fully prepared for the responsibilities of the position.
About The RoleUpon successful completion of the remote certification, you will step into the role of Community Health Nurse, providing a wide range of essential nursing functions and services in remote communities, including community and public health, primary care, and urgent and emergent care. We offer flexible work schedules, including a 2, 3, or 4 week on/off rotation. Along with fly-in/fly-out opportunities allowing you to join our team from anywhere in Canada. In this role, you will support other health professionals in the nursing stations through orientation, training, and information sharing. You will also plan, implement, and evaluate programs and interventions to address health issues, while advocating to key stakeholders to enhance services that promote the health and wellbeing of individuals, families, groups, and communities.

The Pay Range is the minimum (Step 1) and maximum (highest Step) annual base salary based on full time equivalent hours.
