Job description

The Opportunity:

As an entry level technician, you have an opportunity to start a career in industrial emissions testing. You will work as part of a team, travelling to sites across Ontario, Canada and abroad, collecting samples and taking measurements to determine facility contaminant emissions. Over time the role can progress into project management.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Degree or diploma in chemistry, environmental sciences or related field is a plus.
  • Demonstrated competence with Excel, Word and PDF software.
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated work-related travel experience.
  • Ontario Drivers Licence with good driving record.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving a van with a trailer.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Field travel on projects from 1 day to 2 weeks typically.
  • At times may be required to work long hours and/or on weekends.
  • Working as part of a team with supervision.
  • Working at heights on stack platforms, rooftops, scaffolds, man-lifts, scissor lifts, etc. Climbing ladders is a requirement.
  • Working outdoors in most weather conditions (-30C to 40C, rain, snow) is required.
  • Chemical handling.
  • Heavy equipment handling (lifting up to 50lbs required) and maintenance.
  • Data processing (Excel) and report preparation (Word and PDF).
