We are a busy Emergency Department based on two sites Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax and the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary seeing approximately 140,000 per annum. Both of our departments have a separate minor injury stream which runs from 08.00 - 00.00 hours daily.
The minor injury service is currently nurse led with senior clinician input on site where required.
We are looking for a dynamic, hard-working member of staff to join our friendly and pro-active nurse lead team.
Our department provides a supportive work environment and we are committed to staff development.
We are currently going through reconfiguration of both A&E departments, this is an exciting opportunity for you to be involved in the development of our minor injuries service in two brand new A&E departments.
Full or Part Time
We seek an individual who has completed their minor injury training or part way through the course, and is keen to further develop their minor injury skills. Applications from ENPs with a minor illness and NMP qualification are also welcome.
We welcome our Ambulance service colleagues who have completed their minor injuries accredited course to apply.
The candidate can start as a junior ENP (band 6) and work through a progression pathway to senior ENP (band 7). We are also accepting applications from senior ENPs who can start the role at band 7, subject to experience.
You will be expected to see, treat and discharge minor injury patients attending the Emergency Department. You will need to be flexible with regards to shift patterns. You will also need to possess excellent communication skills and show the ability to exercise good clinical judgement and to develop further both clinically and academically where required, as we strive to develop our workforce and work environment, in order to meet future demands on the service.
