Job Description / Duties

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide information to physicians regarding lab aspects of IVF treatment
2. Practice safe procedures in handling human gametes and embryos
3. Practice aseptic techniques and handle infectious samples (HepB, HepC and HIV)
4. Maintain a clean and functional laboratory
5. Perform quality control and quality assurance tests
6. Ensure proper maintenance of equipment
7. Prepare detailed patients’ IVF laboratory reports
8. Monitor and report all adverse events and incidences
9. Continue education through literature reviews, conferences and educational courses
10. Participate in ART accreditation and Health Canada processes
11. Cooperate with research team on various projects
12. Maintain CFAS requirements for certification
13. Active role in monitoring and improving patient safety as it applies to the duties and responsibilities

Qualifications / Required Skills

5. Exercise good judgment and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive information

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor or Master's degree in biological, medical technology, or ART
2. CFAS Embryology Certification preferred
3. Previous experience in ART laboratory of at least two or more years preferred

1. 8 hour shift
2. Holidays
3. Weekend availability
