We have a four-month co-op opportunity available for a Electronics Technician student. In this role, you will assist our Equipment Repairs & Maintenance team in various projects and work orders in a manufacturing environment. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with skilled professionals, leverage advanced technologies, and contribute to the success of Raytheon ELCAN.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support our Equipment Repairs & Maintenance Team with work orders, projects etc.
• Work safely and in accordance with all applicable acts, regulations, legislation, and codes to ensure personal and public safety.
• Interpret electrical, mechanical, and piping drawings.
• Understand and use a variety of heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning tools and equipment safely and properly.
• Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experience.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
• Enrollment in College in an Electronics Technician discipline or equivalent is preferred.
• Exposure to technical drawing packages.
• Developing knowledge of PLC and motor control systems.
• Must have good eye and finger dexterity.
• Knowledge of electric and electronic controls preferred.
• Basic understanding of electronics at circuit board level preferred.
• Ongoing development of electrical theory, wiring, installation methods and instrumentation knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of distribution equipment, electronics, electrical equipment, protective devices, and high voltage systems an asset.
• Proven verbal and written communications skills.
• Professional, responsive, and customer-focused.
• Highly motivated with a demonstrated positive attitude.

We recognize the importance of providing a great opportunity for students interested in entering the Electronics Field. We are committed to providing regular feedback and guidance, assistance in setting learning goals, and a performance review at the end of the co-op term. This is a paid position.

This position involves technologies regulated by the Canadian government’s Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program. In order to obtain the required security clearance, candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, have resided in Canada for a minimum of five consecutive years, and meet all other program requirements.
