Position Overview:
Distech Controls, a subsidiary of Acuity Brands, is seeking an Electronics Technician for its office in Brossard, Quebec (Canada). Under the immediate supervision of the Technician Manager and in collaboration with the production engineering team, the Electronics Technician is primarily responsible for repairing electronic boards, providing first-level support for production testing equipment, and diagnosing returned merchandise.
Repair of electronic boards:
• Analyze the reasons for the rejection of boards during testing and perform the necessary repairs using measuring devices such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
• Read and analyze electronic schematics to find defects on tested electronic boards.
• Update the operations performed in the database (Proligent) when repairing the boards.
Test benches:
• Level 1 specialist for debugging test benches.
• Follow the preventive maintenance of the test benches.
• Prepare components for new test benches.
• Debug new test benches with the production engineer.
Production:
• Install and configure production printers (DATAMAX, ZEBRA, and INTERMEC).
• Configure the database (Proligent) for new production PCs.
• Use Factory Logix for board analysis.
• Maintain the inventory of boards under repair.
• Identify trends in potential issues.
• Participate in the annual inventory count.
RMA:
• Diagnose issues reported by customers.
• Receive RMAs.
• Write analysis reports.
• Identify trends in potential issues.
• Investigate new products launched by Distech and identify potential non-conformities.
Essential:
• College diploma (DEC) in electronics.
• Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of the Windows environment.
• Structured, organized, and quick in their work.
