Position Summary
We are seeking a Permanent Full Time Electroneurophysiology Technologist at Penticton Regional Hospital in Penticton, BC.

Days of work: Monday to Friday, Days

Shift times: 07:30 to 15:30

Effective November 22, 2024, the noted rate and classification on this posting will no longer be accurate. This position will be classified as P2A, Wage Schedule B. The pay rate will be $36.61 to $45.73.

What will you work on?

The Electroneurophysiology Technologist performs technical functions related to producing quality overnight sleep recordings of patients. This includes collecting information, patient data and patient history, preparing recordings for interpretation and writing reports.

Some Key Duties may include:

  1. Conducts and records Electroencephalography (E.E.G.) on patients by performing duties such as operating a variety of equipment, calibrating and adjusting equipment during test processes, taking appropriate measurements from test data produced, and entering calculated results into computer in order to demonstrate whether abnormalities exist.
  2. Formulates technical preliminary reports by performing duties such as analyzing recordings, measuring numerical data, describing abnormal manifestations and forwarding calculations to physician for use in clinical diagnosis.
  3. Receives and prepares patients for tests by performing duties such as receiving requisitions from physicians, reviewing case history and assessing the nature of the problems to determine process and direct test accordingly. Prepares patients for tests by receiving and interviewing patient or family, explaining procedures, attaching electrodes equipment to appropriate areas and monitoring patient’s comfort to ensure patient is at ease while obtaining required results.
  4. Assists with scheduling appointments and prioritizes by clinical urgency, as required.
  5. Maintains a variety of records including patient files through methods such as gathering information, entering data into computerized databases and/or recording information into approved formats.
  6. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Successful completion of a recognized program in Electroneurophysiology Technology plus one year's recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current registration with the Canadian or American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (C.B.R.E.T.) is required and eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (CAET).
