Reporting to the Mill Electrical Supervisor, the Journeyperson Electrician is responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
- Be a Courageous Safety Leader, through promotion and adherence to established Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
- Perform in a team-oriented environment with various trades
- Electrical maintenance, construction, and troubleshooting
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment
- Construct, maintain, alter, repair, and test electric or electronic systems and components that are integral to the operation’s mining activities
- Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance on mining equipment to repairing major breakdowns in a shop or a field environment
- Shift work may be required
Qualifications- Journeyperson Interprovincial Electrician with Red Seal Endorsement
- PLC knowledge
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controls (PLC), variable frequency drive (VFD), motor control center (MCC), and microprocessors
- Understanding of the Electrical Code
- Familiarity with reading electrical schematics and prints
- Previous mining experience is an asset
- Valid Driver’s License (Minimum of BC Class 7N) or equivalent
