Reporting to the Mill Electrical Supervisor, the Journeyperson Electrician is responsible for the following:
Responsibilities• Be a Courageous Safety Leader, through promotion and adherence to established Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Perform in a team-oriented environment with various trades.
• Electrical maintenance, construction, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
• Construct, maintain, alter, repair, and test electric or electronic systems and components that are integral to the operation’s mining activities.
• Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance on mining equipment to repairing major breakdowns in a shop or a field environment.
• Shift work may be required.
• Journeyperson Interprovincial Electrician with Red Seal Endorsement.
• PLC knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controls (PLC), variable frequency drive (VFD), motor control center (MCC), and microprocessors.
• Understanding of the Electrical Code.
• Familiarity with reading electrical schematics and prints.
• Previous mining experience is an asset.
• Valid Driver’s License (Minimum of BC Class 7N) or equivalent.
