Electrician

We are hiring a skilled and experienced Journeyperson Electrician to join our Facilities and Infrastructure department. This role is to support ongoing projects in support of Lakeland College’s sustainability goals. This position will be based out of our Vermilion or Lloydminster campus and will report to the Capital Projects Manager. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations. They will be responsible for performing a wide range of electrical tasks, while upholding our commitment to safety and quality. We are seeking a self-directed, motivated individual wanting employment in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and components in compliance with codes and regulations.
2. Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines.
3. Ability to work independently and in a multifunctional team with minimum supervision.
4. Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of various indoor and outdoor lighting systems.
5. Working with advanced HVAC (heating, ventilation, & air conditioning) & BMS (building management systems) with the ability to troubleshoot.
6. Basic knowledge of fiber optic systems.
7. Experience with current industry trends, best practices, and advancements in electrical technology. Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked. Work in a safe manner, practicing the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and Alberta Electrician Trade Regulation and codes.
8. The ideal candidate will have their NFPA certification, fall arrest, aerial work platform, and LOTO training.

Qualifications:

1. Electrician with Red Seal Certification and licensed Master Electrician would be preferred.
2. Related experience.
3. Class 5 driver's license.
