Electrical/Mechanical Engineer

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen potato products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States and around the world. We have state-of-the-art processing plants in New Annan PE, Lethbridge, AB, Wheatley, ON and another in Jamestown, ND, with head offices in Dieppe, NB and sales locations in Toronto, Montreal and Boston.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical/Electrical Engineer will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, “Can Do” attitude and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems within Cavendish Farms. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects and collaborate with a talented team of professionals.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and test mechanical and electrical systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.
2. Manage multiple capital projects associated with your discipline. Managing schedule, cost and quality.
3. Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for new projects.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical components.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mechanical and electrical systems.
6. Implement and adhere to industry standards and regulations.
7. Optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality.
8. Provide technical support and guidance to production teams.
9. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
2. Proven experience in designing and implementing mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
3. Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
6. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
8. Project Management Skills.

Annual Salary: 62,000 to 80,000
