We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Services Technologist. Reporting to a Client Manager, the successful candidate will be accountable to lead project teams and field projects; ultimately creating superior client experiences through commissioning, repair and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment.
Accountabilities
Service Scope
Equipment upgrades as well as maintenance, testing and commissioning services for commercial, industrial and utility
Client Development
Develop client relationships through client interface on site
Identify service opportunities for clients and communicate them to Managers
Participate in industry events
Ensure all equipment and materials are available for projects
On site, hands-on work, as required
Provide project status updates to Manager
Maintain effective communication with internal and external groups regarding milestone achievements, costs, opportunities, etc.
Escalate awareness of issues and concerns on projects within a timely manner to Manager
Develop site strategy and adjust timelines
Ensure leadership safety excellence is demonstrated onsite
Responsible for site quality and document reviews
Follow-up on deficiency work
Ensure work is completed as per required scope
Ensure documentation is completed and compiled
Meet and review project execution with Manager
Ensure completion and submission of all documents
Complete technical reviews and generate reports
Invoicing
Support invoicing to ensure inclusion of applicable extras for work performed
Job Follow-up
Ensure follow-up to clients is completed as required
Provide feedback to Managers on project execution and employee performance onsite
Leadership
Integrate junior employees into projects in a safe manner
Lead, mentor and develop employees
Safety
Ensure all safety policies are adhered to at all times
Participate in safety meetings
Requirements
3+ years experience as an Electrical Technologist / Field Technician / Power System Electrician / Electrical Engineer
Hands-on field experience commissioning, testing or maintaining power delivery equipment, including breakers, switchgear, relays, transformers.
Broad knowledge in commercial, industrial and utility environments
Trade or tech school certification required
Electrical Engineering degree, PSE (Power Systems Electrician) or CET (Certified Engineering Technologist) and NETA certification is an asset
Proven experience leading engaged and productive project teams
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ability to self-manage with proven initiative and client focus
Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
Strong problem solving skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a dynamic work environment
Excellent time management skills with an attention to detail
The ability to work flexible shifts, which include weekends, evenings and statutory holidays
Ability to travel
Team player with excellent communication skills both written and verbal
A positive, “can-do” attitude
