Electrical Engineer PSP JP4323 (1349042)

Location: Windsor, Ontario

Job Summary: Electrical Engineer role in Windsor, Ontario. If you have experience working as an Electrical Engineer or have experience in a similar technical role and have knowledge of building electrical and mechanical systems, this could be the perfect job for you.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Take ownership of building electrical and mechanical systems including building power distribution, controls, HVAC, cooling, and compressed air systems.
  2. Investigate and resolve deficiencies related to facility building and equipment.
  3. Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
  4. Work with internal customers to provide solutions to equipment and building upgrades.
  5. Develop scope of work for facility construction and equipment installation projects and support the bid process.
  6. Act as Project Manager for facility projects to meet timing, specifications, and cost objectives.
  7. Manage outside contractor services supporting building and equipment maintenance and repairs.
  8. Write purchase requisitions for material and services for facility engineering.
  9. Develop and promote efficiency improvements in building systems to reduce utility usage and maintenance costs.
  10. Ensure owner’s interests are protected with respect to health and safety, cost, schedule, liability, and function on facility construction and renovation projects.
  11. Primary area of responsibility is within company’s facilities located in Windsor.
  12. Willingness to accept a variety of assignments including those that fall outside of electrical engineering.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's of Applied Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  2. 3-5 years of engineering experience with facility electrical systems such as power distribution, controls, safety controls, and lighting.
  3. Knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC, utilities, air compressors, cooling towers, and bridge cranes.
  4. Detailed knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, TSSA standards, OHSA, CSA, and local by-laws.
  5. Ability to interpret and develop electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications.
  6. Experience in the use of AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Google Sheets.
  7. Experience working in a unionized environment.
  8. Strong project management skills, organizational skills, teamwork, and written and verbal communication.

Driving Required: 100% onsite – ARDC
