On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in the Oil & Gas sector in Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems for oil and gas processing plants and facilities. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, adherence to safety and environmental standards, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in complex industrial environments.
Responsibilities
Develop and design electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and electrical infrastructure for oil and gas facilities.
Lead and participate in projects from concept to completion, ensuring schedules and budgets are met.
Analyze existing electrical systems and recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance performance and safety.
Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems on-site.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, civil, and process engineers, as well as vendors and contractors.
Prepare detailed engineering documents, such as electrical drawings, technical specifications, and equipment data sheets.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation with APEGA or eligibility for registration in Alberta.
5+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly in the design and maintenance of industrial electrical systems.
Proficiency in electrical design software: SmartPlant 3D, PDS, P&ID.
