Job Description: We are currently searching for an Electrical Engineer-in-Training/Technologist in our Calgary office. In this position, you will work with engineers, technologists, and support staff to provide electrical services on a variety of transportation, municipal and industrial projects throughout Canada. You will design and commission power and automation systems including medium voltage and low voltage electrical distributions systems, lighting, fire alarms, and security systems. Projects will include airports, water and wastewater treatment plants, water and wastewater pumping stations, food processing facilities, and more. You will visit sites as required to perform commissioning activities, inspections, and business development. You will also provide support to other members of our team while working on a variety of projects in a collaborative team environment.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Applying electrical engineering principles and techniques to provide power, controls, and automation engineering and design services for a wide variety of industries and clients.
• Assisting engineers in broad design activities and calculations (i.e., field electric centres (FEC), airport runway lighting, electrical distribution systems, and automation system layouts).
• Preparation of drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Development of coordination and arc flash studies using ETAP software.
• Development of factory acceptance test (FAT) and software acceptance test (SAT) checking procedures.
• Assisting engineers with construction shop drawing reviews.
• Inspection of airport field electric centres, water, wastewater, and other electrical and automation systems.
• Onsite commissioning of electrical systems.

What you will bring:
• 1-5 years of experience, gained in an academic or workplace setting.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering design, including FEC, Motor Control Centres (MCC), power and lighting distribution panels, single line diagrams, lighting schedules, and layouts.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution system analysis such as coordination and arc flash studies and ETAP software is an asset.
• Proficiency in using Autodesk software, including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Revit.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite products.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Results-oriented, committed team player.
• Possess a valid class 5 driver's license.
• Available for occasional work occurring out of normal working hours, including overtime.
• Available to travel within Canada.
