Electrical Engineer

Our client, a leader in the Nuclear industry, is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team on a long-term basis in Pickering, ON.

Description:

An experienced Electrical Engineer will be asked to support preliminary design and complete conceptual phases assessments on different Electrical equipment upgrades and improvements to the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. They will be involved in different phases of engineering, the systems they will be supporting will be taking the work from conceptual design, moving it through preliminary design and also support detailed design phase. They will be dealing with the selection and design of various systems of their projects and also provide estimates for subsequent engineering phases for the project; procurement engineering support will also be required.

Job Duties:

1. Provide electrical power distribution design and analysis for operating nuclear and other industrial plants.
2. Perform condition assessments of electrical equipment such as transformers, breakers, switch gears, electric motors, motor control centers, generators and other power plant equipment.
3. Develop life cycle plans, including inspection and test programs.
4. Perform engineering change design and analysis following established Engineering Change Control procedures.
5. Perform electrical analysis, equipment protection, cable and electrical equipment selection.

Skills:

Electrical Engineering - Process implementation, brownfield/greenfield projects.
Project Experience - Nuclear experience, consulting engineering environment (project implementation and design products within construction preferably oil & gas, mining, plant refineries, RNG).

Professional Engineer Designation Required
Nuclear Clearance / Experience required - from Bruce Power or OPG.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous RFR, or MCR Project Experience with Electrical Engineering.
• DE Qualified at OPG or Bruce Power or Owners Engineer.
