Electric Motor Systems Technician

Electric motor systems technicians needed for Electric Motor Service Limited.

Responsibilities:

  1. Read blueprints to determine work requirements.
  2. Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment.
  3. Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment.
  4. Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components.
  5. Wind, assemble, and install various types of coils.
  6. Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors.
  7. Perform on-site servicing and repair.
  8. Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear.
  9. Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance.
  10. Estimate repair costs.

Area of Specialization:

Electric motors, Industrial motors, Rotors, Shafts, Bearings, Coils, Armatures, Generators.

Salary: $50.00 to $52.50 hourly (To be negotiated) / 40 hours per week.

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time. Start Date: As soon as possible.

Requirements / Skills:

Languages: English.

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience: 5 years or more.

On-site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots.

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver’s licence.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Ability to distinguish between colours, Manual dexterity.

Work Setting: Maintenance, Repair, Testing, Service, Various locations.
