Position: Engineer in Training
An Engineer in Training is a professional who exercises independent judgment to perform technical tasks and solve problems in complex technological areas with occasional direct supervision. An Engineer in Training operates various mechanical tools and equipment to perform tasks efficiently, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations within the operational premises. Reports to Services/Project Managers. They need to travel to different sites and work consolidated work shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electronic equipment.
- Assist the mechanical engineer with mechanical design and maintenance tasks.
- Install and perform diagnostic tests on mechanical systems.
- Implement mechanical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as perform repairs.
- Document processes and maintain mechanical service records.
- Monitor the availability of parts and replenish supplies.
- Optimize mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.
- Train co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment.
- Maintain a tidy work environment and adhere to industry regulations.
- Customer Asset Management
- Create JSA
- Visit clients, both local and outstation.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
- Member of APEGA.
- A minimum of one year experience as a mechanical technician in a related industry.
- Lead the team and manage issues.
- Proficiency in mechanical design and diagnostic testing software.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using iPad and other devices.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Good knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Willing to travel and work in fields at various client locations.
- Should be physically active and fit for work.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Great organizational and time management abilities.
- Willingness to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs outside of business hours.
- Willingness to work on consolidated work shifts.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $230.00-$250.00 per day
