EIT, Electrical Engineer – Vancouver BC

As an Engineer in Training, Electrical Engineer for an Engineering Consulting Company, you will be responsible for the oversight and execution of office and field engineering projects which can include major design and construction projects from clients in the regions within Canada and/or USA.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preparation of proposals, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents for engineering projects.
2. Execution or oversight of the development and distribution of electrical design documents.
3. Execution or oversight of engineering construction inspections of electrical engineering projects.
4. Preparation of detailed engineering reports regarding the progress and completion of engineering projects.
5. Execution or oversight of required field surveys prior to the project design phase.
6. Analysis of data, preparation of reports, and delivery of presentations about proposed and ongoing projects to the company staff and clients.

Preferred Applications:

1. Knowledge with industrial low and medium voltage power distribution.
2. Knowledge with industrial PLC design and programming.
3. Knowledge and practical application of the basic principles and practices of engineering field and office work, including drafting, and field data acquisition.
4. Knowledge of principles, methods, equipment, and materials used in construction of electrical engineering projects.
5. Experience planning and directing the work of engineering technicians and other staff.
6. Experience making difficult engineering computations, estimates and designs.
7. Experience preparing and interpreting plans and specifications.
8. Ability to perform or supervise engineering inspections associated with project construction.
9. Experience taking precise field measurements, making and interpreting the resulting calculations.
10. Experience with varied types of electrical power and control systems.

Qualifications:

Education: BS in Electrical Engineering
Experience: Experience in electrical/industrial engineering design and construction or other related engineering work, is preferred but not required.
Job Requirements: The electrical engineer – EIT candidate must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
