Bechtel Infrastructure will work in a Delivery Partner role within an integrated team with the customer organization for a Subway Project in Toronto, Ontario. The project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being performed by three key PPP Contractors and multiple advanced early works (EAW) packages Contractors. Bechtel forms a key component of the overall Integrated Project Delivery team (comprising the customer, MX; the Technical Advisor, and Bechtel as the Delivery Partner).

Job Summary:

The Submittal Coordinator, for the Elevated Guideway and Stations, will be responsible for supporting the Integrated Project Delivery team by coordinating the review of contractor submittals, facilitating the review and consolidation of technical comments and reporting on the status of reviews on a weekly basis.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and drives the review of contractor submittals.
  • Ensures that submittal comments are returned on time to support the timely delivery of the project.
  • Identifies bottleneck areas and works with Technical Delivery Supervisor and wider team to resolve.
  • Works with the Integrated Project Delivery team to review and consolidate technical comments from multiple stakeholders.
  • Lead and coordinate the development and preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Leads the development and management of the Project Submittals Register.
  • Take necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorized disclosure, modification or destruction.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or minimum of 5 years experience working in the rail industry and/or large-scale infrastructure projects; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Successful engineering coordination track record on a major multidisciplinary rail project.
  • Demonstrated technical writing, data management, verbal communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
  • Experience working with teams and stakeholders in the development and delivery of large infrastructure projects. Ability to communicate across technical disciplines.
  • Detail oriented and skilled in setting priorities.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Proficient understanding of contract administration systems (i.e., Unifier, CM 14, ProjectWise).
  • Excellent analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills; oral and written communication skills.
