Our Food & Beverage team is looking for an F&B Manager who will be responsible for the Front of House service at the Resort which includes the Boathouse Restaurant, Catering and Events. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the outlets, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, bar and special event/conference services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the management and performance of all front of house Food and Beverage operations and services ensuring high standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Establishment of operational policies, procedures, standards and training manuals as it relates to all FOH F&B operations.
  • Oversee and ensure proper hiring, training, supervising, personal development and corrective action in accordance with employment standards and health and safety of FOH F&B staff.
  • Oversee all fiscal areas and performance for the F&B operations including planning, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and control of expenses.
  • Ensure adequate scheduling of staff and timesheet approval completed on a daily basis.
  • Schedules and chairs regular staff meetings focused on customers, operations, revenue growth, cost containment and continuous improvement.
  • Contributes and attends department head meetings and any invited/scheduled management meetings.
  • Ensures attendance at local networking events representing Taboo F&B Operations as required.
  • Provide input into the development of annual business plans for the F&B operation.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Chef, coordinate and ensure all written correspondence, newsletters, and communications for F&B.
  • Collaborates with the Event Coordinator to manage, facilitate and execute all Events and Catering Functions.
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef and Golf Operations Manager for food and beverage needs, on-course food and beverage needs, outside events, and catering for all golf functions.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with Head Chef, Golf Operations Manager, Sales Coordinators, and all other department heads.
  • Manage, supervise, coordinate, communicate and motivate all staff to ensure outstanding guest service within all outlet operations.
  • Responsible for the ordering and control of inventories of all supplies (i.e. beverage, small wares, linen) for FOH.
  • Ensures regular onsite management presence during all peak services times, and during conference events given the seasonal nature of the operation.
  • Ensures daily, weekly and monthly POS and group billings/postings are accurate completed and reported to resort accounting management.
  • Meets labor, beverage cost percentages and budgets.
  • Responsible for booking and managing the F&B entertainment annual schedule.
  • Be passionate about the training of food and beverage team members and hold team members accountable.
  • Ensures and enforces that all aspects of front of house operation meet the highest of health and safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all Government agencies, including Smart Serve, AGCO, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Labor statutory requirements.
  • Document and follow up all staff and guest complaints/issues.
  • Ensure daily briefings are being taken place in all outlets.
  • Responsible for and ensures completion of monthly Food & Beverage inventories for all outlets.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills)

  • A University Degree or College Diploma in Hotel/Resort Management is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in a resort or hotel environment/operation.
  • Must be computer literate, with experience in Windows, Internet, Excel, Outlook and Silverware POS.
  • Passionate and productive leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational, supervisory and communication skills.

  • Dynamic, energetic, creative and positive presence and problem solver.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Well organized with good cash handling skills.
  • Maintain positive, professional, diplomatic and calm working relationships with all team members.
  • Smart Serve certified.
  • Food Handling Certification and First Aid/CPR certification an asset.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 80% On the floor being hands on with the team.
  • High paced.
  • Must be able to work flexible potentially long hours including, mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to stand throughout an 8-10 hour shift.

Pay: From $65,000 per year
