Position Overview

Dream Payments is looking to add to our Project Management team with a motivated Junior Project Manager. Reporting into our lead Project Manager, the Junior Project Manager is accountable on an ongoing basis for guiding projects and implementations in accordance with our short-term plans and long-term strategy for Dream Payments’ cloud and platform services.

Working with a diverse cross-functional team that includes Architecture, Engineering, Product, QA, and Client Services, you will coordinate and execute technology projects with long-term organizational goals in mind. You will be hands-on with detailed project work, creating and contributing to project plans and deliverables, coordinating activities and tasks, facilitating problem-solving, running stand-ups, and working with team leads to gather and update estimates. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in cultivating a helpful, team-oriented environment by collaborating in open knowledge sharing.
  • Foster self-organization, cross-functional skills, and effective communication within the Scrum team.
  • Ensure assigned tasks are completed and delivered within the project timelines, working overtime as needed.
  • Facilitate all Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
  • Proactively track Project or Sprint daily activities across the teams and accurately report status and risks to the Project manager and internal stakeholders.
  • Work with Project Management team to prepare estimations of development efforts and activities breakdown.
  • Utilize corporate objectives and priorities to ensure teams are working on the right piece of work.
  • Understand Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid project management methodology.
  • Interact with peers before updating supervisors, interaction will often be with management levels at the client and/or within Dream Payments.
  • Guide, create and coach the Scrum Team on Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products and services.
  • Exemplify and promote Agile values and principles, contributing to the continuous improvement of Agile practices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to influence decision-making and support project or product teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Good communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience working on agile software development and modern, service design-based product delivery for large organizations.
  • Experience planning work that aligns with product owner priorities.
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodology.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum frameworks and techniques.
  • Experience working with teams of 10+ developers and QA teams would be an asset.
  • Proficiency with Agile development tools such as Zoho Projects, Jira, or similar platforms.

Professional Skill Requirements

  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Proven ability to communicate and work with remote teams.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Education background in computer systems and/or engineering considered an asset.
  • Working experience with various SDLC methods like Iterative or traditional waterfall.
  • Scrum Master certification would be an asset.
