About the Role:
As Spirits Manager, you’ll partner with our General Manager to drive the success of a multi-million-dollar business. This role is all about creating an engaging store atmosphere where customers feel welcome, team members thrive, and sales goals are consistently met. You’ll lead a team that’s motivated to deliver exceptional service, cultivate a deep knowledge of our extensive spirits collection, and celebrate customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & People Development

  • Create an inspiring culture that makes Wine and Beyond an inviting place to work and shop.
  • Serve as a role model, coaching, mentoring, and building confidence within your team.
  • Set daily and long-term priorities with the General Manager, guiding the team to success and recognizing achievements along the way.
  • Participate in recruitment and succession planning, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new team members.
  • Keep the team up-to-date with required training, and foster a commitment to operational excellence.

Customer Experience & Sales Growth

  • Lead by example in providing extraordinary customer service. Engage customers, recommend products, and encourage your team to create memorable shopping experiences.
  • Motivate the team to boost sales by recommending our preferred labels and exclusive brands.
  • Plan and host in-store tastings and events, showcasing our unique selection and creating an immersive customer experience.
  • Respond proactively to customer feedback, using it to continually refine our approach to service.

Operational Excellence & Financial Accountability

  • Oversee inventory levels, product assortment, and merchandising standards to ensure a seamless shopping experience.
  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly sales metrics with the team. Celebrate successes and develop action plans to improve when needed.
  • Collaborate on large-scale merchandising strategies, helping to manage everything from visual displays to promotional rollouts.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure our store complies with all OHS, LP, and ProServe/Serving It Right standards, staying informed on all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date certification for all regulatory training to safeguard our store and team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 2 years in a retail environment with a strong preference for supervisory or management experience.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. ProServe/Serving It Right Certification and WSET Level 2 (or other spirits-related training) are assets.
  • Skills: Leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, organization, attention to detail, and an exemplary work ethic.
  • Customer Service: An instinct for providing exceptional customer experiences, complemented by strong communication skills.
  • Sales & Product Knowledge: A knack for sales and an enthusiasm for expanding personal and team knowledge about our spirits.
