Performs scheduling functions as designated by practice. Schedules surgeries, procedures, and diagnostic testing. Requires general knowledge of specified surgical procedures, exam preparations, exam sequencing, and other related functions.

REQUIRED

1. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
2. One year previous medical-related clerical experience.
3. Demonstrated organizational and communication/customer service skills.
4. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in utilization of computer applications.
5. Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to type effectively.
7. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of responsibility.
8. Ability to work independently.

PREFERRED

1. Previous experience in a hospital/medical office scheduling environment.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of a computerized scheduling system.
3. Prior experience in insurance precertification.
4. One (1) year secretarial experience at a healthcare organization.
