Campbell River Christian School in beautiful Campbell River, BC, has an immediate need of a temporary, full-time Gr.3 to take over teaching duties as soon as possible, continuing until the regular teacher returns or until June 30, 2025 (whichever happens first.) Interested applicants MUST have the correct legal documentation to be able to work in Canada, must possess a valid BC Teaching license, and must have a valid Criminal Record Check issued by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General. Additionally, because this is an Independent Christian school, interested applicants must be a professing Christian and be in regular attendance at a Christian church. The successful candidate is asked to provide a written statement of their Christian faith as well as a cover letter, a résumé, and 3 references one of whom must be the pastor/minister of the Christian Church they currently attend. The successful candidate will start this position as soon as possible.

Qualifications/Skills

• Possession of a valid BC Professional Teaching certificate/diploma
• Experience as a teacher, especially in ELEMENTARY grades
• Experience working with young students
• Strong formative and summative assessment practices
• Excellent lesson planning and time management skills
• Excellent understanding of and experience with differentiated instruction
• Ability to work with diverse students by using various teaching strategies
• Possession of exemplary listening and communication skills
• Ability to work closely with staff in a team approach
• Demonstration of superior teaching practices using current pedagogical best practices
• Ability to integrate a biblical worldview into all lessons
• Strong familiarity with biblical teaching and comfort praying for/with others
• Demonstration of excellent classroom management skills
• Evidence of a strong understanding of and support for Christian education
• A strong personal commitment to the Christian faith
• A commitment to the Statements of Faith as outlined in the school's faith statements as well as the statements of faith as outlined by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)
