Team Summary
The Specified Solutions Advisor is a critical member of the Building and Roofing Science Team. This remote position will be responsible for developing specification opportunities for GAF | Siplast by working directly with architects, spec writers, and roofing consultants. This position will work closely with the area Building Design Manager to build and maintain relationships with architects, specifiers, and key decision-makers to ensure that our products are incorporated into a wide range of construction projects.

Job Summary
The Specified Solutions Advisor will support GAF Commercial and Siplast sales teams. You will be focused on finding project opportunities where the Building Science team can add value and working with Territory Managers to turn each opportunity into a win. You will build relationships as a trusted advisor within the design and commercial real estate community through focused outreach at bid walks, trade shows, presentations, product demonstrations, and meetings.

Essential Duties

  • Focus: Pinpoint market opportunities with Building Owners, Facilities Managers, Community Associations, Spec Writers, Architects, and Consultants, while juggling competing priorities and client requests.

  • Industry Engagement & Relationship Building: Build immediate rapport with industry professionals at conventions and design events, becoming a trusted advisor to influence product selection in construction documents.

  • Influence Specifications: Engage with Building Owners and Facilities Managers to influence product selection and provide technical expertise to meet project requirements.

  • Train and Educate: Coordinate educational programs with building design managers and local territory sales managers, utilizing marketing tools to support selling efforts.

  • Technical Support and Consultation: Provide expert problem-solving and guidance throughout the specification process to align with design intent and project goals.

  • Manage: Deliver timely solutions, maintain contact throughout the sales cycle, and utilize commercial construction databases for lead generation.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with sales and building science teams to align strategies and track influential architects and specifiers.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends and competitor products, sharing insights with sales and product development teams.

  • Thrive: Balance work and fun while fostering positive relationships with various groups to achieve territory sales goals.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years of sales experience or in the building material industry.

  • Experience in consultative selling of roofing materials to design professionals and commercial property owners.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned territory (1-2 weeks a month).

Qualifications Preferred

  • Technical knowledge of the roofing industry.

  • Strong public speaking skills and ability to engage large groups.

  • Computer skills including Google Business Suite; experience with SalesForce preferred.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Highly motivated, energetic, and persuasive.

  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.

  • Industry certifications such as CDT, LEED AP, RRO, RRC preferred.
