Job description

The Next Step Program Supervisor gives overall leadership for the Next Step Program, reporting to the Program Manager. The Next Step Program Supervisor provides a safe and secure environment for the program participants/clients and provides practical support to re-integrate them into the community while they address issues related to substance use and mental health concerns. The Next Step Program Supervisor plans and delivers various programs, including the Pathway of Hope Program, to meet program participant/client’s needs and to support them in continuing their sobriety and finding meaningful employment.

Hours:
  • 25 - 30 hours/week, varied schedule, including weekend
Minimum Requirements:
  • A 2-year social work program completion
  • At least 2 years of experience in supportive housing, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Knowledge of homelessness, 12 step programs, Celebrate Recovery, trauma-informed care, and community agencies.
  • Experience in advocacy, service coordination, and crisis management.
Required Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage diverse relationships and work with external partners.
  • Understanding of anti-oppressive practices and trauma-informed approaches.

The performance of the job requires continuously monitoring the environment, frequently interacting with clients, attentive listening and observation of body language, and moderate attention when recording information.

Additional Requirements:
  • Non-Violent Crisis Training is an asset.
  • Immunization for Hepatitis B
  • Vaccination against Tuberculosis

  • Background check consent
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening
  • A clean drivers abstract
  • Completion of our online Praesidium Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
