Job Title: Dispatcher, Military Police Unit Esquimalt

Pay: $26.27/hr - $27.30/hr

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Military Police Shift Supervisor, the MP Dispatcher is responsible for prompt emergency and non-emergency Police response. They are also responsible for proper documentation of all calls, starting the CAD in SAMPIS for patrols in accordance with CF MP Gp Orders, issuing keys and monitoring alarms/cameras.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to Dispatch Police response appropriately to any given situation
Adhering to CF MP Gp Orders with regard to protocols relating to communications
Ability to use or learn to use SAMPIS in the performance of duties
Ability to use CPIC and adhering to the regulations regarding the use of
Complying with Access to Information/Privacy Act requirements
Essential Qualifications
Successful completion of the Commissionaire Qualifying Course
Must have Level II (Secret) security clearance issued by Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) and be on the VCR
Ability to adhere to strict Confidentiality requirements
Proven ability to respond to changing situations
Ability to use proper radio/telephone communication procedures
Ability to use and monitor alarm/CCTV equipment
Rated Qualifications, Knowledge And Skills
Require strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office email (Outlook), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and use of the internet
Knowledge of military writing an asset
Liaise effectively with various agencies within the Military
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Demonstrated ability in analytical thinking and problem solving skills
Ability and flexibility to deal effectively and efficiently with rapidly changing situations
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to operate under stress and tight timelines
Possess strong organizational skills with effective time management skills
Knowledge of Offences under Criminal Code of Canada, National Defence Act and other federal and provincial statues
Knowledge of all areas of CFB Esquimalt
