Position Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the RBI Global Accounting team in a controllership role for various RBI brands and regions with an additional near-term focus on acquisition accounting for several Asia-Pacific entities. The role will support regional controllers in the monthly and quarterly closing processes ensuring alignment with RBI’s accounting policies. The candidate must have relevant public accounting experience including but not limited to reporting, consolidation, acquisition accounting, and controls. The ideal candidate developed these skills working with public companies. The candidate is required to be fluent in both English and Mandarin and must be willing and able to travel for extended periods of time in the Asia-Pacific region including Singapore and China.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities including review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flows.
  2. Work with Brand, Corporate, and SEC reporting teams to ensure proper consolidation of results.
  3. Work with regional / brand controllers and specialists to complete all aspects of acquisition accounting for various acquisitions including the implementation of valuation methodologies, including but not limited to, franchise rights, PPE valuations, leaseholds, and the related push-down accounting.
  4. Implement RBI’s accounting and controls policies and processes at acquired entities which may also include conversions from IFRS to US GAAP.
  5. Where applicable redesign of acquired entities processes to comply and potentially integrate with RBI’s IT and digital systems.
  6. Act as main point of contact with internal and external auditors for the acquired entities.
  7. Support internal and external audits and SOX compliance processes.
  8. Assist with special projects as needed.
  9. Cultivate a deep business partner relationship with the regional finance and business teams and provide guidance on accounting matters.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field - Master's degree preferred.
  2. 8+ years of public accounting experience.
  3. CPA required.
  4. Fluent and able to discuss complex accounting, finance and business issues in both English and Mandarin.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as position has direct contact with numerous departments within and outside RBI including external auditors and consultants.
  6. Strong organizational skills and commitment to meeting deadlines.
  7. Strong attention to detail.
  8. Working knowledge of SAP and reporting system OneStream is helpful.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  10. Open to 25-50% international travel.
