Why This Role is Open:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contract Administrator to join our Toronto office. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction administration, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering successful projects.
Responsibilities:
- Contract Administration:
- Manage and administer construction contracts.
- Review and approve contractor submittals, shop drawings, and payment applications.
- Monitor project schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Resolve contract disputes and claims.
- Site Inspections:
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress.
- Verify compliance with contract documents and specifications.
- Identify and address potential issues.
- Document Control:
- Maintain project documentation, including contracts, correspondence, and meeting minutes.
- Manage the project information management system.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and guide junior team members.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure project success.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in construction administration, preferably on new build school projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, specifications, and standards.
- Proficiency in construction documentation software (e.g., Revit).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with LEED or other sustainability certifications.
- Knowledge of project management software (e.g., Primavera P6).
