Electronics Technician I (summer student co-op position)

What You’ll Work On
The Electronics Technician I will support the testing of electromechanical systems by performing some of the following tasks:
- Performing routine calibrations of electronic, temperature, flow, pressure, and other measurement instrumentation
- Component-level troubleshooting and repair of equipment failures on high complexity Campbell Scientific products
- Executing tests, documenting results, and communicating results with other team members
- Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment including instrumentation, data acquisition hardware and test fixtures
- Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions
What We’re Looking For
- An ability to read and follow test plans, test reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
- An ability to productively manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with automated testing, mechanical and electronic systems, and knowledge of the use of general-purpose test equipment are all assets.
Eligibility Requirements
- A minimum first year completion in Electronics / Instrumentation program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Proficiency using standard bench testing equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, function generator, soldering station).
- An ability to analyze test set-ups
- Registered full-time or part-time in a publicly funded Canadian post-secondary institution in any program (International students with a work permit are not eligible).
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- The WIL (Work Integrated Learning) experience must be recognized by the student's post secondary institution to be eligible.
- Eligible work placements can include cooperative education, internships, field placements, and applied research projects.
Work Environment
This is an electronics manufacturing facility.
Physical Requirements
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time to complete work may be required.
