Welcome to Vista Radio, we are currently hiring a Local News Reporter in our recently acquired Fort St. John station!

In storytelling, the details matter; you will bring your detail-oriented, accurate approach to find, create, and tell the stories from the community for a news content environment. Position Description

1. Be a part of the community, live, work, and play here
2. Researching and writing news stories
3. Executing a highly localized broadcast
4. Voice tracking broadcasts, as required
5. Represent the radio station at community events
6. Accept responsibilities as assigned by the News Director
7. Post to social media
8. Participate in cluster/broadcast news meetings
9. Participate in air-checks
10. Other duties as assigned

1. Should have newsroom experience or applicable broadcast education
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills
3. Strong on-air delivery
4. Self-starter
5. The ability to work within a fast-paced environment both individually and with a team
6. A valid driver's license
7. Working familiarity with Adobe Audition, KLZ Newsroom, and on-air software is a big-time plus.
8. Ability to use and excel with social media (Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
