Overview

The Event Framework team is looking for a lead software engineer to implement large scale distributed systems based on reactive architectures. This engineer is expected to actively engage in design discussions and consistently produce high-quality code. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving highly complex problems, motivated, and has an intellectually curious mindset.

Role

  1. Design and implement highly resilient large scale distributed systems using event driven architectures.
  2. Write code to build and enhance applications/services, conduct code reviews, and other standard development practices to deliver high-quality artifacts to production.
  3. Drive prioritization decisions and trade-offs through working with product partners.
  4. Automate and simplify all aspects of software delivery and development.
  5. Introduce new technologies and architectures aligning to enterprise guidelines by conducting POCs.
  6. Provide coding and design guidance to junior team members.

All About You

The ideal candidate for this position should have the following experience and skillsets:

  1. Proven track record in delivering production grade large scale distributed systems.
  2. Excellent programming experience. Preferred - Java, Spring Boot.
  3. Familiarity with secure coding standards.
  4. Good exposure to advanced design patterns and ability to appropriately apply them.
  5. Understands internals of operating systems (Windows, Linux) to write interoperable and performant code.
  6. Good exposure of implementing products in AWS (and/or) Azure environments.
  7. Experience with event-driven architecture, broker technologies (NATS, Kafka etc.) is a plus.

Pay Ranges

Vancouver, Canada: $127,000 - $203,000 CAD
