Job description

Location: This is a hybrid position (4 days per week in office from 1 of our office locations below and 1 day remote).

Office Locations:

  1. Burlington location @ 3215 North Service Road, Burlington, ON, L7N 3G2 (near hwy. 403 QEW and Guelph Line)
  2. Starting April 2025, Burlington location will be relocated to our Brampton location @ 1 Presidents Choice Cir, Brampton, ON L6Y 5S5 (near hwy. 407 and Mississauga Rd)

Summary:

Lifemark is looking for a skilled Senior UX/UI Designer who will be responsible for creating engaging and seamless user experiences across our internal and external website assets. As a vital member of our dynamic team, the Senior UI/UX Designer will lead and create design for many digital projects, intake and update various development-related needs across specific web properties, take part in translating user stories and requirements into compelling, intuitive, and functional user testing. This role requires a creative mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Your Key Accountabilities:

  1. Incorporate industry-best design practices into your work, explaining design choices and providing rationale.
  2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand task and project requirements and translate them into detailed wireframes, mock-ups, and user-friendly interfaces.
  3. Conduct user research, user testing, and analysis to gather insights and inform design decisions.
  4. Create wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups to visualize design concepts and interactions.
  5. Iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and usability testing results.
  6. Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX/UI design and development.
  7. Demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity by ensuring that website assets meet accessibility standards and guidelines, such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).
  8. Maintain personas and collaborate on a persona-driven design approach.
  9. Proficiency in utilizing user behavior analysis tools such as Hotjar to gather qualitative and quantitative data on user interactions with our digital products.

Your Tech Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Web Design, or related field.
  2. Proven experience in UX/UI design with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  3. Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, InVision, or similar.
  4. Solid understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  5. Strong knowledge of responsive design principles; usability and accessibility standards & guidelines.
  6. Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Bootstrap or Foundation.
  7. Experience with conducting user research and usability testing to refine designs.
  8. Technical proficiency to collaborate with developers/stakeholders and speak their language.
