For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Human Resources, Business or other related fields. Closely collaborating with the Talent Management team, the individual in this role will be responsible for coordinating student-focused events, leading teams and projects, and engaging with students across Teck. The successful candidate must possess outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with individuals of a diverse set of backgrounds.

Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PDT or MDT or relocate to a specific office (site-based). You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.

Salary Range: $3900 - $4900 / Month

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Support Teck’s student-employee engagement and retention strategy involving events/activities and leading student-focused programs.
  • Build relationships and communicate effectively with external organizations and internal business partners.
  • Assist with our nationwide Campus Recruitment Program, both virtually and on-campus at local post-secondary institutions
  • Participate in a diverse number of projects that aim to strengthen Teck’s talent attraction, recruitment, and retention strategies.
  • Actively contribute ideas and input to ensure that Teck’s campus programs are innovative, impactful, and relevant.
  • Potential involvement in co-op recruitment activities such as screening resumes, facilitating interviews, etc.

Qualifications

  • Working towards an undergraduate or master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Arts, Communications, or other related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with event planning and project management
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work effectively independently as well as part of the team
  • Proven ability to learn innovative technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate with precision in a technical environment.
  • Able to articulate complex concepts clearly and in a way a diverse audience would understand.
