Founded in 2013, Digital Moment (formerly Kids Code Jeunesse) is a Montreal-based charity and part of a global network of organizations working to mobilize communities to build a better future through digital literacy education. For over a decade, Digital Moment has been advancing digital literacy by focusing on creating impactful programs and experiences for educators, youth, and their communities on digital skills such as coding, cybersecurity, algorithms and data literacy, and artificial intelligence. Digital Moment is focused on equity and accessibility, particularly for underrepresented groups and encompasses four educational initiatives:

About the role:
We are seeking three (3) Educational & Community Developers. In your application, you are invited to choose one role of these three (3) areas:
- AI literacy for educators in K-12 classrooms, with a focus on teacher-training;
- Social entrepreneurship programming for youth outside the classroom, with a focus on youth engagement and peer learning;
- Sustainability & technology intersections for online learning activities, with a focus on self-paced activities to seed classroom discussion.
The designed learning experiences are intended to equally prioritize learning outcomes and community-building, which we wanted to emphasize in the title of the role.
The contract end date is March 31st, 2026. Digital Moment’s intention would be to extend these contracts pending receipt of multi-year funding.
The role is over 80% of the time remote, with occasional in-person facilitation. Ideally located near Montreal, Quebec or Toronto, Ontario, but we are open to candidates across Canada.
What you’ll do:
Develop learning experiences:
- Collaborate with project leads to support alignment of objectives/outcomes, content, learning methods and evaluation;
- Actively listen to your audience’s needs, facilitating discussions and collaborating on design research;
- Collaborate on the initiation, design, development and evaluation of learning projects;
- Lead the development and refining of self-serve educational materials such as educator guides or job aids;
- Develop live learning experiences, such as workshops or intensives;
- Collaborate with the UX/Graphics designer and SMEs to develop online learning resources or activities.
Facilitate/pilot learning experiences:
- Occasionally, facilitate engaging, interactive learning experiences, which may include:
- Virtual or in-person workshops or conference talks (60 to 90 minutes) for small groups of educators;
- Learning communities for educators (this is for the AI literacy focused role);
- Engaging in-person workshops or intensives for teens (this is for the social entrepreneurship or sustainable technology focused roles);
Support our internal continued learning and improvement:
- Support feedback and learning processes for iterative improvement to our resources;
- Adhere to our pedagogical standards and foster an inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking;
- Support educational / design / market research for new projects.
Must-Haves for this Role:
- 3+ years of experience as an educational developer, instructional designer, training designer and facilitator, community learning program lead, or equivalent;
- Experience in developing training and support resources;
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical and user experience concepts / issues to non-technical audiences, in an empathetic and accessible way;
- Creativity and resourcefulness;
- Solution-oriented and highly organized work approach;
- Demonstrated ability to work well with people in a cross-functional team environment, as well as to work well independently;
- Dedicated lifelong learner who can demonstrate continuous commitment to professional and technical development;
- A reliable home workspace with a stable internet connection, essential for our collaborative remote work and delivering virtual workshops and training;
- Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written).
The ideal candidate would additionally have:
- Masters in educational technology, pedagogy/andragogy or group learning dynamics; or equivalent background or demonstrated interest in learning science or education;
- Experience designing or delivering learning experiences for the focus area for which you are applying for;
- A strong interest in the focus for supporting the development of youth agency and flourishing through education, either directly with youth or in collaboration with educators;
- Experience with digital literacy education;
- Flexibility to occasionally pilot learning activities on weekends or after hours, to be scheduled in advance;
- Knowledge of the Canadian and provincial/territorial educational systems, with an understanding of curriculum requirements and pedagogical approaches.
Additionally, ideal qualifications for the AI literacy focused role:
- Familiarity with at least one coding language and proficiency in computational thinking concepts;
- Experience with coding education tools such as Scratch, Micro:bit, p5.js/JavaScript or Python skills.
