Foothills School Division is currently seeking Educational Assistants to provide physical, social, emotional, behavioral, and learning support to students/children identified with mild, moderate, and/or severe needs in a variety of settings within the school environment.
Full-time hours follow the school calendar schedule for approximately 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work with minimal supervision under the direction of the classroom teacher and learning coach. They will provide flexible support to students/children according to their changing needs and to facilitate and encourage independence in all areas of student/child development. This position will have a focus on supporting with RTI programs in Math and English Language Arts.
The Education Assistant will establish effective working relationships with teachers, parents, and the community. A strong background and expertise working with students with a wide range of physical, cognitive, social, and emotional differences including:
Experience working with students with complex needs that includes collaboration with educational support teams and therapists, such as SLP, OT, and Behavioral Consultants is an asset.
