Join Our Dynamic Team as a Field Human Resources Manager!

Are you passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture and nurturing top talent? Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a dedicated Field Human Resources Manager to provide invaluable support to four of our vibrant veterinary hospitals in Eastern Canada:

  1. Central Toronto Veterinary Referral Clinic (Toronto, ON)
  2. Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital of West Toronto (Mississauga, ON)
  3. Maritime Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Centre (Dartmouth, NS)

As a pivotal member of our team, you will directly impact our company by shaping our culture and ensuring we attract, develop, and retain the best talent in the industry. This position is in-person, requiring regular travel between Toronto & Mississauga with bi-monthly travel to Dartmouth. Approximately 20% remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Empowerment and Support: Serve as the go-to HR resource for employees and managers, fostering an inclusive culture, and addressing workplace concerns promptly and effectively.
  2. Strategic Collaboration: Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to implement HR programs seamlessly, ensuring effective communication and anticipating challenges.
  3. Employee Relations: Proactively manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, providing guidance, conducting investigations, and collaborating with HR Business Partners and legal counsel as needed.
  4. Performance Enhancement: Coach leaders through performance concerns, facilitate performance reviews, and ensure fair and equitable treatment across all levels.
  5. Compliance and Analytics: Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations while leveraging data and analytics to drive meaningful insights and strategies.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience and Education: Bachelor's degree + 2 years as a Generalist. If no Bachelor's degree, then 5 years in HR/Generalist role.
  2. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office applications and HRIS systems; Ceridian experience is advantageous.
  3. Proactive Problem Solver: Navigate ambiguity with ease, handling multiple tasks, and prioritizing effectively.
  4. HR Expertise: Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws, with a knack for navigating ambiguous situations.
  5. Empathetic Leader: Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, fostering trust and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
